After enjoying a very successful halter
show career, which included numerous Junior and Grand Champion
Stallion wins, and taking home the blue in the “Most
Classic Arabian” class, Santa Fe Bey began his performance
career. His gorgeous appearance coupled with his incredible,
fluid movement, suited him very well as he developed into
an exceptional Western Pleasure horse.
Under the capable hands of
nationally-acclaimed trainer, Josh Quintus, of Colonial
Wood Training Center in Arlington, Texas, Santa Fe Bey racked
up blue after blue during the 2004 show season. The pair
were named Champion, Western Pleasure Open at the Cowtown
Classic in Ft. Worth, TX, and the Greater Kansas City Spring
Fling in Sedalia, MO. Santa Fe Bey and Josh then went on
to claim a Top 5 in Western Pleasure Open at the very tough
2004 Region 11 Championship Show in Springfield, Illinois.
Santa Fe Bey is passing on to his
offspring his kind disposition, his incredible movement,
balanced conformation, exceptional rear-leg angulation,
length of neck, and then placing his pretty tipped ears
onto beautiful heads. Santa Fe Bey’s foals are consistently
an improvement over each and every mare he breeds. Because
his babies are so beautiful, people often mistake Santa
Fe Bey’s Half Arabian offspring for Purebreds.
Santa Fe Bey’s sons
and daughters have hit the show ring by storm, and are being
shown successfully in multiple disciplines. His foals have
won countless Jr. Championships and Futurity Championships
in halter, received extremely high scores in Sport-Horse-in-Hand
(and the blue ribbons to go along with those scores), and
have never been beat in Get of Sire classes.
His offspring are now beginning to be shown under saddle,
and their accomplishments are incredible! B Joaquin Bey,
was named Champion Western Pleasure Junior Horse at the
Houston All Arabian Show in 2004. Santa Fe Savanah received
top honors at the Region 8 Sport Horse Championships in
2005, bringing home Top 5 ribbons in HA/AA Sport Horse in
Hand ATH, and HA/AA Hunter Hack Open. At his very first
show, the 3-year old Santa Fe Suede, (trained by Josh Quintus)
was named Champion HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Jr. Horse at the
2005 Mayfest Challenge in Ft. Worth. Only a few short weeks
later, Suede and Josh went on to earn a Top 5 at the 2005
Region 9 Championships in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Jr. Horse.
And, that was only Suede’s second show!!!

Santa Fe Bey’s pedigree is filled
with champions and producers of champions, and it is quite
apparent that these champion bloodlines are breeding true.
Santa Fe Bey’s lineage is about one- half Polish,
through *Bask, Comet, *Witez II, Bad Afas and Amurath Sahib.
The balance is comprised of some of the best of Crabbet
and old Egyptian bloodlines. This cross has been the foundation
of the extremely successful halter and performance horse
breeding programs of Varian Arabians, Lasma Arabians and
others.
Standing 15.1 hands, Santa
Fe Bey is an AHA Breeders Sweepstakes Nominated Sire. He
is SCID clear, and transported, cooled semen is available.
Frozen semen will be available beginning with the 2006 breeding
season. Unfortunately, he is not homozygous for the black
gene, but is producing about 40% black foals.
We welcome visitors at the
Double JK Ranch, and invite inquiries on the several beautiful
Santa Fe Bey foals which are available for purchase. We
believe that Santa Fe Bey is destined to become one of the
premier black Arabian sires in the country!!
